x = (5 + √73) / 4 or (5 - √73) / 4

Explanation:

2x² - 5x - 6 = 0

x = [5 ± √(25 - 4(2)(-6)] / 2(2)

x = [5 ± √(25 + 48)] / 4

x = [5 ± √(73)] / 4

x = (5 + √73) / 4 or (5 - √73) / 4)
