Waxing the floor helps protect it from scratches and makes it look nice. The school wants to find out whether the expensive floor wax is better than the cheap version. One liter of each brand is applied to 5 test sections in the hall. 5 other sections are not waxed. After 3 weeks, the number of scratches in each of the test sections is counted.

Answer:

INDEPENDENT variable - type of floor cleaner

DEPENDENT variable- numbers of scratches

Constants : number of test sections and size of test sections

Step-by-step explanation:

Independent variable is a variable which is change dependent variable by manipulated itself, type of floor cleaner costly one or cheap one is independent variable in this case.

Dependent variable is a variable which is analyzed or measure in experiment it is something that shows response to the independent variable. In this case number of scratches before using cleaner and after using cleaner.

Constants is something in experiments that does not change in the experiment. Number of test sections and size of test sections is constant here in this case.
