The answer for question 2 is:

x^2 - 25x - 26 =0

The answer for question 3 is:


- 3 {x}^(2) + 5x - 6 = 0

Explanation:

The general form of a quadratic equation is:


a {x}^(2) + bx + c = 0

Therefore, for question 2 we have to ensure that the equation is in this format. The only thing to note is that the sign changes when a value goes to the other side of the equal sign. You can decide to carry over the x squared or you can carry over the 25x and the 26, it does not matter which you chose to do as the answer will still be correct. For question 3 we have to first clear the brackets before we can ensure it is in the general format.


x(x +5) = x * x \: + x * 5 \: which \:\: is \: equal \: to \: {x}^(2) + 5x

Therefore the new equation would be:


{x}^(2) + 5x = 4 {x}^(2) + 6

We do the same as we did in question 2.
