`3y+2x=7.35`

`x=1.8`

Insert value of x from second equation into first to get rid of the system and get:

`3y+2(1.8)=7.35`

Now solve for y.

`y=(7.35-2(1.8))/(3)=1.25`.

A bag of chips costs $1.25.
