Firstly we subtract 3 from both sides gives;

Next we apply the division property of equality, we have;

Both sides of an equation remain equal when we divide both sides of the equation by the same, non-number,

Dividing both sides by 4, gives;

4·b/4 = 8/4

b = 8/4 = 2

The solution to the equation, 4·b + 3 = 11 is b = 2.
