A new youth center is being built in erie. The perimeter of the rectangular playing field is 274 yards. The length of the field is 4 yards less than double the width. What are the dimensions of the playing​ field? need width and length in yards

274 = 2(h + w)

h = 2w - 4

h = length

w = width

then:

274 = 2((2w-4) + w)

274/2 = 2w - 4 + w

137 = 3w - 4

137 + 4 = 3w

141 = 3w

w= 141/3

w = 47 yd

h = 2w - 4

h = 2*47 - 4

h = 94 - 4

h = 90 yd
