Use the values x = -0.5,0,1 to prove your solution to the equation 5 + x - 12 = 2x - 7 . In your final answer, include all of your calculations.

Combine like terms

-6 = -5

Since -6 does equal -5 the answer is not 1

5 + 0 - 12 = 2(0) - 7

Combine like terms

-7 = -7

Since -7 equals -7 the answer is 0
