How do I isolate the y variable?

x = (2y + 4)/(3)

(3x)/(2) - 4

Explanation:

first multiply by 3 on both sides

then subtract 4 on both sides

finally you have to divide by 2 on both sides to get

y =
(3x)/(2) - 4

You’ll have to get rid of the ones around it by doing the opposites (+ goes to - and divine going to multiply)
