Answer: The first ten amendments written into the Consititution have been called the Bill of Rights.


Background History: The Bill of Rights was written by James Madison, in attempt to ensure individuals’ rights against what could become a tyrannical government. There were originally twenty proposed amendments, but only ten were ratified.
