Answer:

m = -3

b = 0

equation of line

y = -3x

Explanation:

in the the equation in the form y = mx +b

m is the slope

b is the y intercept.

__________________________________________________

given slope = -3

thus,

m = -3

the required equation of line is

y = mx +b

put m = -3

y = -3x + b

to find b , we put x = -2, y = -6 as this equation contains point (-2,-6).

-6 = -3*-2 + b

=> -6 = -6 + b

=> b = -6 + 6 = 0

thus. m = -3

b = 0

equation of line

y = -3x
