Let a be -1/6 and let b be 1/2. Let x be the sum of the reciprocals of a and b, let y be the product of the reciprocals of a and b, and let z be twice the reciprocal of a divided by the reciprocal of b. Calculate x+y+z. Please Help!

Answer:

x + y + z = - 22

Explanation:

Reciprocal of a : - 6,

Reciprocal of b : 2

Therefore if x is the sum of the reciprocals of a and b, it will be - 6 + 2 = - 4. x will be - 4.

Respectively if y is the product of the reciprocals of a and b, it will be - 6
* 2 = - 12. y is - 12. And if z is twice the reciprocal of a / the reciprocal of b, it will be the following,

z = 2(- 6) / 2

= - 12 / 2 = - 6

And x + y + z = - 4 - 12 - 6 = - 22. That is your solution.
