Why are the southern slopes of mountains warmer than northern slopes?​

in the northern hemisphere a south-facing slope (more open to sunlight and warm winds) will generally be warmer and drier due to higher levels of evaporation and transpiration than a north-facing slope. So South facing slopes are much warmer.
