1) -7/4

2) 4/7

3) -1/5

Explanation:

1) A parallel line would have the same gradient so:

4y = -7x +3
y =
(-7)/(4)x +(3)/(4)

So a parallel line would have the gradient of
(-7)/(4).

2) A perpendicular line would have the inverse reciprocal of the gradient so multiplying the 2 gradients would equal -1 so:

Initially Gradient = -7/4

-7/4 x Perpendicular line = -1

Perpendicular line = -1 x 4/-7

Perpendicular line = 4/7

3) Using the same principle, the perpendicular gradient would be -1/5x
