A rebellious act by American patriots who wanted to show the British that their unfair tariffs (specifically on tea) would not be tolerated by the colonists.

The Boston Tea Party protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston, Massachusetts, in the year of 1773.

The American Colonists were protesting England's tax on the tea.

Keep in mind, we were still a colony then which means

we were not the United States of America yet.

England was putting very high taxes on goods

that were coming to the United States of America.

So for example, tea was something hat everyone drank and

it was a commodity so the colonists were protesting the high taxes.

So they got on board the boat with all the tea from England

and they dumped all the team into the harbor.
