Answer:

\boxed{ \boxed{ \bold{ \purple{ - 6.67}}}}

Explanation:

\sf{ - 5x - 10 = 2 - 2(x - 4)}

Distribute 2 through the parentheses

\sf{ - 5x - 10 = 2 - 2x + 8}

Move constant to right hand side and change it's sign

Similarly , Move variable to left hand side and change it's sign

\sf{ - 5x + 2x = 2 + 8 + 10}

Collect like terms

\sf{ - 3x = 2 + 8 + 10}

Add the numbers

\sf{ - 3x = 20}

Divide both sides of the equation by -3

\sf{ ( - 3x)/( - 3) = (20)/( - 3) }

Calculate

\sf{x = - 6.67}

Hope I helped !

best regards!!
