the ratio of the number of female participants to the number of male participants is 4:9. if there are 30 more male participants than female participants, calculate the total number of people who attended the party.

Answer:

No. Of Males can be x
No. of Females can be y

The difference between the no. of males and females is 30
so x - y = 30

with ratio we can get 4x and 9y

now subsitute the value of x

9y/4 - y = 30

y = 24 females

x = 54 males

so the total no. of people at the party will be = x + y = 78
