Let x = area of ∆EDF

(6 in^2)/(x) = ((3 in)/(2 in))^2


(6)/(x) = (9)/(4)

Cross multiply:


6*4 = 9*x


24 = 9x

Divide both sides by 9


(24)/(9) = x
