The answer is y=x+2 . The slope is m=1. And the y intercept is b=2

m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (6-1)/(4-(-1))=(6)/(6) =1

Step 2: Substitute the slope and a point in to find y intercept

(6)=(1)(4)+b

Therefore the equation for a line that passes through (4,6) and (-1,1) is y = x + 2
