to find the zeros, we equate f(x) = 0

f(x) = 0

(1/2)(x- 7)² – 8​ = 0 (add 8 to both sides)

(1/2)(x- 7)² = 8 (multiply both sides by 2)

(x- 7)² = (8)(2)
