Answer: x = 0 and x = 8

Your teacher may want you to enter the answer as 0, 8 to indicate x can equal either of those values. This is not an ordered pair.

===========================================================

Work Shown:

x^2-8x-6 = -6\\\\x^2-8x-6+6 = 0\\\\x^2-8x = 0\\\\x(x-8) = 0\\\\x = 0 \text{ or } x-8 = 0\\\\x = 0 \text{ or } x = 8\\\\

If you wanted, you can type x^2-8x-6 = -6 into WolframAlpha and it will produce x = 0 and x = 8 to confirm the answers.

Or you could use Desmos to plot y = x^2-8x-6 and y = -6 to see the curves intersect at (0,-6) and (8,-6). We only focus on the x coordinates of the intersection points.
