Lactose intolerance is a condition within the digestive system- it is bloating, irritable bowels, gas & stomach issues, after the consumption of a dairy product (Lactose is a sugar found within dairy products, such as milk or ice cream). This is caused by lactose malabsorption. If you have lactose malabsorption, your small intestine makes low levels of lactase. Therefor, enzymes then break down lactose and can not digest all the lactose you eat or drink.

Lactose intolerant is the inability to digest sugar in dairy products. Lactose intolerance is usually caused by a deficiency of an enzyme in the body called lactase.
