At the end of this section, Jonas receives a folder containing guidelines for his new occupation as Receiver of Memory.

Pick one of his rules from the list on page 47. What could this rule mean for Jonas and his new job?

Do you think that Jonas will have a hard time following this rule? Would you, if you were in his place?

I don’t remember the exact rules, but I some were that he had to stop taking the pill every morning/ any medication in general, he could lie, he couldn’t tell anyone about his training, and he didn’t have to apologize/ except apologies. It was hard for him to lie and not tell anyone what he was doing, and it put a strain on his friendships.

I was wondering if this is a question from a book called “The giver”? If not can you name the book?

If it is a question from the book “The Giver” Jonas isn’t allowed to tell the people, friends, and family about the memory’s. Meaning it stays between him and the giver. Jonas has a hard time with this rule because he wants to tell his friends and sister.
