= (6x+4x+1)+(-2x+x-9)
= (2x+1)+(-x-9)
= 2x+1-x-9
= x-8

(3x^2 - 4x + 1) + (-x^2 + x - 9)=\\3x^2-4x+1-x^2+x-9=\\2x^2-3x-8
