Write a short dialogue–both sides of the conversation–in Spanish between you and your new Spanish instructor in complete sentences. Use the vocabulary from this lesson and the following suggestions as a guide for your answer: You may copy and paste the accented and special characters from this list if needed: á, Á, É, é, Í, í, Ó, ó, Ú, ú, ü, Ñ, ñ, ¡, ¿ *Note: The sample sentences/questions in parentheses are just a guide to help you form your sentences/questions. You must come up with your own original answers keeping academic integrity intact. Greet and state your name in one sentence. (e.g., Good morning, my name is ___.) Ask your instructor his or her name in one sentence. (e.g., What is your name?–formal) Have your instructor reply in one sentence what his/her name is. (e.g., My name is ___.) Let your instructor know you're glad to meet him or her in one sentence/expression. (e.g., Nice to meet you, sir.) Give a farewell. (e.g., Goodbye.)

Hey there! I'm happy to help!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

VOCABULARY

Let's look at a few important vocabulary words to help us construct a good dialogue.

  • ¡Hola!- Hello!
  • ¡Buenos días! - Good morning! (this actually translates directly to English as "good days")
  • ¿Cómo se llama usted?- What is your name? (this is only used formally) (this translates directly as "how do you call yourself?")
  • ¿Me llamo...?- My name is... (this translates directly as "I call myself..."
  • ¿Cómo estás? - How are you?
  • ¡Es un placer conocer a usted! - It is a pleasure to meet you! (this is a very fancy way of saying nice to meet you that we will use)
  • ¡Adiós! - Goodbye!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIALOGUE

Let's set up our dialogue using these vocabulary words!

Yo (I): ¡Hola! Me llamo... (tu nomre aquí/your name here) ¿Cómo se llama usted?

Instructor (Instructor): Me llamo.... (nombre del profesor)

Yo: ¡Es un placer conocer a usted! ¡Adios!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, you can greet someone and introduce yourself in Spanish! I wish you the best of luck on your Spanish journey. ¡Hasta luego!
