Surface area of sphere is what referred to as Total surface area or lateral surface area because here the surface is curved everywhere.

\large{ \boxed{ \rm{ \orange{Surface \: area \: of \: sphere = 4\pi {r}^(2) }}}}

Total surface area of other 3-D shapes:

  • Cuboid = 2(lb + bh + hl)
  • Cube = 4s²
  • Cylinder = 2πr(r + h)
  • Cone = πr(l + r)
  • Hemisphere = 3πr²

Lateral surface area of these shapes:

  • Cuboid = 2h(l + b)
  • Cube = 6s²
  • Cylinder = 2πrh
  • Cone = πrl
  • Hemisphere = 2πr²
