Pls help- studying for midterms!!!!!

how would I solve:

1/5x+3/10=-4

(how to solve equations)

pls explain how you got an answer and identify answer

(1)/(5)x +(3)/(10) =-4

To add or subtract fractions, we need to have the same denominator. We can do that by cross multiplying :
(1)/(5)x +
(3)/(10) for the numerator, and multiply both denominators together to find our common denominator.


(10x+15)/(50)=-4

Now, cross multiply to solve for x.


10x+15=-200


10x=-215


x=-\frac{43}2}
