Which function has only one x-intercept at (-6, 0)?

Of(x) = x(x-6)
O f(x) = (x - 6)(x - 6)
f(x) = (x + 6)(x - 6)
Of(x) = (x + 6)(x + 6)

Answer:

f(x) = (x + 6)(x + 6)

f(x)=0

x+6=0 ⇒ x=-6

Answer: D. f(x) = (x+6)(x+6)

Set (x+6)(x+6) equal to zero and solve each equation for x. We really only have one equation and it would be x+6 = 0 which solves to x = -6.

Plug x = -6 into f(x) and you would get f(x) = 0.
