The debate as to whether WWll was helpful or necessary is a very difficult one, as there are good reasons for supporting both sides. Those who say the was helpful showed the incredible prosperity of the US and eventually, Western Europe and Japan, which led to America being a superpower. It’s would use its power to slow and stop the spread of authoritarian communism. Japan today has the worlds fifth largest economy. On the other hand, the majority of WWll deaths were innocent people from all over Europe, including soviets, poles, Jews, the disabled, people of color, and LGBTQ+ members. Due to the instability after the war, the British were forced to leave India, which led to the largest migration crisis in history, and eventually forged the current geopolitical state between India and Pakistan. The reasons for supporting one side will always be counter argued with another, so it’s up for you to decide wether or not WWll caused more good than bad, or vice versa.
