Im a male teacher, and one of my students (which is a girl who is fifteen/sixteen) keeps staring at me when I’m in the hallway/corridor walking to my lessons and I’m not sure what I should think?

Does anyone know why a student would be staring at me?

Answer: If a student is staring during a lecture, there are a few possibilities to consider:

1. She may be visually impaired

2. She may be hearing impaired

3. She may have ADD or ADHD

4. She may be on the ASD spectrum

5. She may have other learning/cognitive disabilities

There are many issues (including above) in which young people don't know how to appropriately act in public situations. Someone who "stares" during a lecture, either doesn't know how to maintain an "interested" look without being "creepy," or has an attention issue and they are trying to focus.

Answer: She may want to grab your attention to talk about something or something referring to the lessons in class. If not try asking her why she does it. If its neither then i advise you to inform the principal to find out what's going on.
