The reasons I think so many strict traffic laws are put into place about railroads are because of : the large numbers of deaths that happen at a railroad intersection, the need for some people to be fearless and try and beat the train rapidly increasing speed, the carless vigilance and preparation when people pull up or drive over a crossing if they know a train is coming, and finally, I think rr laws are mentioned a lot since while many choose to brush of accidents, many of them occur on the tracks since people choose to be inpatient.
