Pentagon (5 sides ) has

exterior angle = 360° ÷ 5 = 72°

Octagon ( 8 sides ) has

360/n

where n is the number of sides

First figure

For the first shape it has five sides

That's it's a pentagon

The measure of one exterior angle of the shape is

360 / 5

= 72°

Second figure

For the second shape it has 8 sides that's it's an octagon

So the measure of one exterior angle of the shape is

360 / 8

= 45°
