Answer:

40 teachers.

Explanation:

  • The required staff to student ratio is 2:15
  • 340 people attended the excursion.

We are to find the number of teachers (staff) who attended the excursion).

For every 2 staff, there are 15 students

The number of teachers who attended the excursion is
(2)/(17) × 340 = 40 teachers

The number of students who attended the excursion is
(15)/(17) × 340 = 300
