Answer:

Hey there!

Let x be the price he paid for.

2x-8=34

2x=42

x=21

He bought the stock for 21 dollars.

Hope this helps :)

Answer:

The price per share when he bought it was 21

Explanation:

Let x = price he paid for the stock

34 = 2x-8

Add 8 to each side

34+8 = 2x-8 +8

42 = 2x

Divide by 2

42/2 = 2x/2

21 = x

The price per share when he bought it was 21
