Using the cofunction identity

sin x = cos(90 - x)

Given x = 20°, then 90° - 20° = 70° thus

CE - 30 = 70° ( add 30 to both sides )

CE = 100°

Thus

sin20° = cos(100 - 30)° = cos70°
