Answer:

x² - 9

Explanation:

(x + 3)(x - 3)

Multiply each term in the first parentheses by each term in the second parentheses ( FOIL )

x(x - 3) + 3(x - 3)

Calculate the product

{x}^(2) - 3x + 3x - 3 * 3

Multiply the numbers

{x}^(2) - 3x + 3x - 9

Since two opposites add up to zero, remove them from the expression

{x}^(2) - 9

Hope this helps..

Best regards!!

Answer:

x² - 9

Explanation:

Given

(x + 3)(x - 3)

Each term in the second factor is multiplied by each term in the first factor, that is

x(x - 3) + 3(x - 3) ← distribute both parenthesis

= x² - 3x + 3x - 9 ← collect like terms

= x² - 9
