First we have use distributive property on the left side of the equal sign.
That will bring our equation to:
3x + 3 = 5 + x
Now we have to move around so the like terms are separated from each other
That will bring our equation to:
2x = 2
Now we can divide by 2 to get x alone
That will bring us to our answer:
x = 1
