Answer:

At first, Odysseus is hard-headed and arrogant he acts without thinking about the consequences. His curiosity leads him to wait around for the Cyclops and then taunt them. This results in getting himself into trouble. It takes him a long time to learn to control himself by waiting for the perfect moment to avenge himself. Waiting can sometimes be more difficult and take more strength than acting.
