For example, a situation, a young man has a father suffering from dementia, if he understand the health situation of the father while fulfilling is duty as a son shows that he is treating the father with respect.

Otherwise, he is only interested in feeding the man without making effort to see things from the father's health perspective. It does not make him dutiful son.
