so x = minus 9

then

7 × (-9) - 2y = 35

-63 - 2y = 35

-2y = 35 plus 63

-2y = 98

- y = 49

y = -49

Answer:

\boxed{y = -49}

Explanation:

=>
7x-2y = 35

Given that x = -9

=>
7(-9) -2y = 35

=>
-63-2y = 35

Adding 63 to both sides

=>
-2y = 35+63

=>
-2y = 98

Dividing both sides by -2

=>
y = -49
