Hey there! I'm happy to help!
The imperfect form of a verb is like a line in the past. It is talking about something you used to do, or something that was constant in the past.
How do you conjugate a verb to be imperfect?
For verbs ending in -ar, replace the -ar with -aba. If you are using it to talk about a them or plural you, it is -aban, for informal you it is -abas and for we it is -abamos.
For verbs ending in -er and -ir you replace the -er or -ir with ía, adding an n on the end as well when talking about plural you or them, mos for we, and s for you informal. The imperfect conjugation of correr for we is corríamos. We keep the accent on the i.
There are a few irregularities that will not use this -aba or -ía. For example, the imperfect of ser is era. There are only a few weird exceptions like this that you need to learn.
Now, let's conjugate these verbs.
1. Era
2. Gustaba
3. Tenía
4. Llamaba
5. Ibamos
6. Había
7. Pensaba
8. Consideraba
9. Esperaba
10. Sabía
I hope this helps you on your Spanish journey! Have a wonderful day!
