2x - y = -4
3x + y = -9

Answer:

x=(-13/5), y=(-6/5)

Explanation:

I will do step by step since I dont see a picture.

when you add them it gets rid of the y,

5x=-13

divide out the 5

x=(-13/5)

plug this into the first equation

2(-13/5)-y=-4

-5.2-y=-4

add 5.2 to each side

-y=1.2

divide out the negative

y=-1.2 or (-6/5)
