Jena has a rope that is 4 1/4 inches long. If she divides the rope into sections that are exactly 1/4 inch in length, how many 1/4-inch sections will she have?

Answer: 17 1/4 inch sections

Explanation:

4 1/4 = 4.25

1/4 = .25

Simply do 4.25/.25 to get 17.

There are four 1/4 inch long sections in 1 inch. Thus, in four inches there would be 16 of those sections.

16+1=17
