You work in a museum that has a huge, beautiful, stained-glass window. Each panel tints the light a different color. Recently a new exhibit showcasing plants from around the world has set up a table in front of the window. Plant 1 is in front of a blue stained glass, Plant 2 is in front of a purple stained glass, and Plant 3 is in front of a green stained glass. Which plant should you tell the museum director to move so it doesn’t become malnourished?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Light absorption is needed for production of food i.e photosynthesis to enable plant to be nourished and grow.

Plant absorb different light at some specific wave length using photoreceptors and this absorbs light of specific wavelengths the red, far red, and violet-blue.

The purple light is not been absorbed by plant and any plant placed in such environment will likely be malnourished with time.

The chromophore of the photoreceptor regions of the visible light spectrum trigger structural development. The sensory receptors absorbs light at wavelength between the given range where blue and red glasses will like allow penetration of light and its absorption.
