The formula for an area of a rectangle is L times W. So divide 144 by 16 and you get the width, which is 9. The ratios of rectangle A is 16:9. The ratios of rectangle B is 4:x. 16 divide by 4 is 4, so 9 divide by 4 is 9/4 or 2.25.
