so : |x|= -x

replace it in the expression


(-x)/(x+1)

so :


\lim_(x \to \-infty) (-x)/(x+1)= limx⇒-∞( -x/x) you take the terms with the highest degree

so limx⇒-∞ (-x/x) = -1
