list the factors of 84 and 36

1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 12, 14, 21, 28, 42, 84

1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36

both numbers have 1,2,3,4,6,9 and 12 as a common factor but 12 is the biggest so it is the gcf

GCF means both numbers have 12 as their biggest factor they have in common.
