A linear function has the same y-PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!intercept as x+2y=10 and it’s graph contains the point (9,7) find the slope of the linear function slope

I think it is 2/9 or 0.22

Explanation:

You know they have the same y intercept, so first you should find the y intercept of the givern equation.

x+2y = 10

2y = -x + 10 [subtract x]

y = -.5x + 5 [divide by 2]

Now you have the equation in graph form, and know the y intercept is 5.

If the unknown function has the same y intercept, you know it contains the point (0,5), and it is given that it includes the point (9,7)

now that you have two points, you can use slope formula.

(y2 - y1)/(x2-x1)

(change in y)/(change in x)

so,

(7-5)/(9-0) = 2/9 = 0.2
