Answer:

2 miles

Explanation:

Width, W = 1 mi.

Length = L

Perimeter, P = 6 mi.

2L + 2W = P:

2L + 2(1) = 6

2L + 2 = 6

2L = 6 - 2

2L = 4

L = 4 / 2

L = 2

Answer: 2 miles

If this is wrong then sorry!

Hope it help!

Answer:

Let's call the length x. Since perimeter = 2 * (length + width) we can write:

6 = 2(x + 1/2)

3 = x + 1/2

x = 2 and 1/2

The answer is 2 and 1/2 miles long.
