If p(x) = 2x2 - 4x and g(x) = x - 3, what is (pog)(x)?

Answer:

2x² - 16x + 30

Explanation:

p(x) = 2x² - 4x

g(x) = x - 3

To find (pog)(x) replace every x in p(x) by g(x)

That's

(pog)(x) = 2(x - 3)² - 4(x - 3)

= 2( x² - 6x + 9) - 4x + 12

= 2x² - 12x + 18 - 4x + 12

= 2x² - 16x + 30
