President Woodrow Wilson was very passoniate about ending World War I and bringing peace among nations. The United States wasn't entirely sure about entering the war, since they didn't really have anything to fight for. Woodrow Wilson though otherwise, he thought that fighting in order to bring peace was needed.
The Fourteen Points was a speech given by President Woodrow Wilson to congress, where he outlined numerous points he believed were important. These points consisted of goals and strategies, that would lead the United States and other nations closer to ending World War I.
Many leaders and countries thought that Woodrow Wilson was being too optimistic about the whole thing. They thought that many of the points were unrealistic for the real world and people would not obey to them. Although Wilson did not agree with Germany getting very bad reprecussions after World War I, they did anyway with the Treaty of Versailles.
